5 cycle hyperbolic was my favorite from Isky. Ed (still) knows how to hype and its usually a good product. Oldmics
There was the Crower "Imperial," with roller bearings...it didn't last, but I always wondered "why Imperial"??
" OFF ROAD" I had a Z-28 302 in a 40 Willys coupe over 40 years ago. (before going to a blown motor) I don't remember the number but I put the optional Z-28 "OFF ROAD" cam and kit in it, a pretty aggressive solid lifter cam that sounded really good and the 302 was a RPM motor that pulled strong for its size. Drove that combo on the street with one of the Offenhauser cross rams that mimicked the factory cross ram (but much cheaper) original Z 28 cam was a solid lifter cam also.
Hey wheelguy Here ya go, pick one. First design # 3927140 Second design #3965754 Third design #366293 (mushroom lifter)
because only a king could afford them , they were expensive compaired to a regular plain bearing roller , and now days they are more common ( the roller bearings are pressed into the block instead of on the cam )
GM made the o54 cam but most of us called them the Junk cam as it went flat ( the standard cam of v-8s of the late70's)
Always loved reading the cam catalog descriptions; "runs strong 4000-7500 RPM. Needs gears, 4 barrel, headers, compression. Rough idle".
