Sorry I didn't save the text. Great photos, Gary. This looks to me like Leroy Warriner and Bob Tattersal.

Just FYI, back in the day it was common for the Commander of many Navy and Marine squadrons to have a "mascot" car. This guy's hair is too long to be a Marine, so I'm guessing it's a Naval aviator (complete with brown shoes). He looks too young to be the Skipper, but I'd bet ya a six-pack he's standing next to the CO's Skipper-mobile. Based on the 401 on the fender, he was probably in an attack squadron, like A-4s or A-7s. Thankfully this goofy fad went away after the Vietnam war era. Anyone know what kind of car that is? Gary

Further... an old Navy pilot friend, who was also a squadron CO later, thinks the base was NAS Cecil Field in FL and the pilot was probably a JO in a Spad (Douglas A-1 / AD Skyraider) making a photo-op out of his CO's car. Spads were funky but cool multi-purpose aircraft. You just rolled in and uglied them to death.

RE post# 99551 :: The McCormack coupe was pulled from a salvage yard in PA a few years ago. Check this short Flicker video, right in the middle :

Thanx. Super small motor, I bet my 850 Fiat coupe could give it a good run! LOL. Gary

From the town where I went to high school. The caption reads:
"Ford car with 6 people plunged into a sewer trench at Baudette Minn. Nobody hurt. Car slightly damaged."

Not quite the typical "trophy girl" at this track.

But the "Holy Grail" is a photo of it racing at Atco back in the day.
