I know exactly what you mean Bruce, by the way, Bill's 32 roadster is in Trend Book 102.....
You can view the book, thanks to Jimmy, at this site.

I have the original Likes '32 Deuce roadster in this thread and have researched the Likes cars extensively. A lot of the history in the Galpin link is incorrect, as it was written by the previous owner before Galpin.
image.jpg image.jpg The fact is that any trophy or tag from the 1950 season is without question from the '32, as the '29 did not exist until the 1951 racing season. There was only one Likes roadster in '50, and it was also called the Edelbrock Special and wore the number 2B.
Here is a current photo of the car, as well as the car as the original 2B Edelbrock Special.

Bubba67: Original or current version you've got one beautiful roadster . Would love to see more of her. Sure would be nice and fitting if you could snare those trophy's to have with it.

Ken Crawford hasn't specified any issues with the restoration of his old roadster. Too bad Bill Likes isn't around to point out the issues here. Hopefully the information I received about the theft are incorrect. I called my source again today though, just to make sure I didn't misunderstand anything. I'm sure that someone would've had a knock on the door by now if it were true.
Funny how these old threads get revived.

    Good luck with the roadster.
