I have a 54 Ford sedan, today, the carb caught fire. It was my own fault for not re-building it and repairing the leaks.
It's a simple single barrel carb, does anyone have any experience using anything other than the Holley 1904, that came standard on the 223?
Debating replacing/upgrading, but not quite sure which direction to go.
Thanks in advance for your help

As you know there are a number of intakes that offer the possibility 2 bbl or 4bbl carbs of that is a way you want to go. I don't believe there is a direct replacement though. If you want to get rid of your 1904, I'd sure be interested.

There is one other thing that comes into play, the 1904 is made to work with your Load-O-Matic distributor. If you can find a pre-1964 Ford single barrel with a matching bolt pattern you could go that route. This picture might get you thinking to "kick it up a notch" ;) 223.jpg
