Thanks for the comments guys! Just got back to a very cold and wet Holland. (fairly similar to the Texas weather last week!). Stopped by Brian Bass in Dallas once again and talked cars and cars. It was good to meet up with him again.

Went past the body shop this afternoon and there certainly has been progress. It's now completely sanded with 180 grit. It's getting closer by the week. Credits to the guys that have worked so hard while I was enjoying myself in Texas.

Things are taking shape! The major sanding has been completed and the car is getting ready for the paint booth for its first layer.

Next on the list was to mask off the whole car, before the new layer was applied.

    Haha, so am I!

Next up is a layer of polyester filler. This will need to dry for a day and then the whole sanding process will start all over again. The guys are going for perfection!

  15. Question:
What's better than seeing paint on Eric's car?

    Answer:
Seeing the Hemi sitting in a painted engine bay.

The finished paint is so close now, I can almost smell it, but this ride ain't over yet.
Thanks for all the cool pics Eric.

Guys, notice the SIZE of that air hose for the High Volume Low Pressure gun, these body guys aren't messing around!
Now comes another go-'round of careful blocking. This ain't no MAACO job!

  17. Exciting times for sure! Eric, when your car is done you may have a bunch of HAMBers flying to the Netherlands to meet you and see your car in person.

Thank you for the comments gentlemen! Here's a last pic of Carlos at work. The painters, Carlos and Paulo, were nearly fighting who could apply the layers. Haha.

With the coats so generously being applied, I'd call this a 'Dutch Treat'!

Seriously, my hat is off to you guys in 'foreign countries' that endeavor into such projects. Parts availability, local support (comeraderie) are just some of the things we 'yanks' take for granted.
Kudos to you, Great Mopar project!

Thank you Mike! The fact that the build is a "little" more difficult across the pond, makes for a good challenge to say the least!

Thanks Antti! The last coats shall be applied next month, the way things are progressing at the moment.

Is that poly spray filler like a high build primer?

I just stumbled on this thread a few days ago and have been devouring it. All I can say is...

HOLY HELL, WHAT AN AWESOME BUILD!!!

Not only does this project appeal to the best of what is being built on the HAMB, but it is being handled (and documented) with a level of skill that is truly inspiring.

Thank you, farmer12, for taking us along on the ride.

Just one question: What does "farmer12" mean? :)

Thank you for all the comments everyone! As always, it's appreciated.

A little update. The fitment of the 39 Ford taillights are not the way they should be........there's too much curvature in the panel. So.....the lights are moving downwards to where the panel is vertical and straight, and the old holes are going to be welded up. After this, final sanding is going to commence!
