  4. One right here (the only one I think).
I didnt saw this thread. JeffB2 over at the Ford Social Group pmed me.

    When will you be here?

I'm some 400km from the Algarve and havent much to show I'm afraid. Just my 40 square ft small workshop, a carport, the car in the avatar, plus 2 beach cruisers I built, a boardtrack racer project with cooling issues, about half a dozen of the cruiser skateboards I use to build, two chickens and a duck :).
Around here I am only aware of a 1950 4door Mercury flathead V8 (seen it closely at a shop once gettin something done in the cooling system). That one is owned by a wealthy local family with nobility liaisons and to whom I'm not friends with.

The hot rod and kustom scene in Portugal is very scarce and not organized. The cars are mostly owned by very conservative people that tend to use them rarely and that usually talk down any hamb friendly initiative. Its just a matter of culture and people arent just into it I guess. Maybe the future will be brighter.
There are a lot of casual classic european classic cars meetings on the weekends, mostly 4 bangers, like Fiats, VWs, Opels and stuff. One occurs near the Belém Tower in downtown Lisbon on Sunday mornings. Never saw much Detroit steel overthere.

Anyway, since you're stayin in Algarve you might wanna check out these guys: http://www.outridingbmx.com/2014/outriding_201407290.html

If you're into rockabilly, check these out:
    https://www.google.pt/search?hl=pt-..._occt=any&safe=images&as_filetype=&as_rights=

Further up North (near Lisbon) there are these guys: http://www.caaca.pt/, also http://www.cpaa.pt/,
Heck, check all of hese: https://www.google.pt/#q=clube+de+automóveis+antigos . Probably 99% of them are really conservative.

Also there is a National Museum dedicated the cars and bikes, the Caramulo Museum: http://www.museu-caramulo.net/. Really conservative, far from the Algarve, but hosting some races during the summer season, check them out.

The most Hamb friendly enterprise I know of here is this one: http://www.maria-ridingcompany.com/maria_contacts.php. I dont know them, neither do I know where they are located, but I guess it would be worth to shoot them an e-mail.

    Regards

  8. Sorry i had no internet for a few days , at the moment we are in aljezur and surfing, i guess sebutal is not far away ?

  9.
  10. we are stay another 10 days or so

  11. Lucky you, some very nice days coming our way, with near 30ºC next week.
So you surf! So do we. Were are you surfing overthere? Lots of nice waves in Arrifana, Odeceixe, Amoreira, Vale Figueira, Amado, Carrapateira, Bordeira.... Damn I wish I was there but I'm stuck working...
You are almost certain to score classic waves next week at Arrifana. Me and my buddies head overthere sometimes also.
If you head South you will have many other choices on surfspots.
I dont believe you're lost, since you should have things sorted out and also people there are friendly, but if you do need some orientation or help on beaches or so do shoot me a pm. I know that area fairly well.
    Have a good one.
PS - Dont forget to have some "torresmos" (the ones in pieces, not the ones in slices), olives, good home made bread, and to drink some good red wine while whatching the sun going down after a good day of surfing!
    Damn I'm jealous!

If your interested in visiting the south of Portugal this summer, you might want to catch this event:

4th American cars Algarve Show - 29/30 August 2015 in Faro

That's going to be your best chance to see a custom or hotrod in Portugal. Of course there will also be lots of other activities, custom motorcycles, bicycles, live music, pin-ups, lots of sunshine and warn water beaches, great food and wine...

If you are going to be in Bowling Green in June look us up. Will be in the wagon in my avatar or in a primered 49 chevy with red scallops. We will have the beer.

How´s that? Did you google translate the sentence or do you have some affiliation with Potugal?

  21. Lol... I knew the gist of it since it is so close to Spanish, but I did use google translator.
