I look at these pictures and the one thing that jumps out at me is how different all the cars are. Sure there are some common themes but there is no formula to the way they are built. (except maybe lighter = faster) Great stuff and very refreshing.

How can you tire of something you love? Most of the time, pictures take me back to a happier time, other times they spark an idea,Either way,it's a good thing. And as for that well worn HAMB phrase,"keep those pics coming",we really mean it ;)

  7. From LIFE archive Dahm bros roadster (Dec. '50 cover car). 386 is Winston Ranger's Chev 6 T roadster. The orange track T I have yet to id.

The Barney Narvaro pic bottom left, I haven't seen that pic before, real cool.

I liked the shot from the dirt tract racing showing a passenger that was actually filimng the race with a 16mm, what looks like a bolex, movie camera. What he would have done for an iphone?

Girls sitting on the cowl & hood....

Back in the day guys were not as persnickety as the are now,,back then it was more about the speed, not a dent in the hood,,and there were plenty of hood around at that time if one needed a new one.

Heck,it's not as tragic as if it was the rare 25 louver hood! :D HRP

  24. I was wondering how long it would take before someone ask about the steering coming out the side of the door. Really thought 3WLarry would pick up on it first.

  25. Sorry for the late reply, the photo was taken in the '51-'54 period and from the Saugus/Santa Clarita area.
