Looking for pictures if anybody has some of 49-54 Chevy 60's style cars. Not gassers but period correct dual purpose drag/daily driver cars. I did some searching under the junior stock tread and also the 60's hot rods but don't see allot of the Chevy's.I just am interested in stance and wheel tire combo's used. Thanks Tim
I have had the same problem finding 60's style pictures for my project direction. I wonder if modifying the title might draw more attention from the regular custom crowd.
That's the kind of cars i'm looking for rusty1, that last one in the pictures is also exactly what i want to do even has fenderwell headers! Tim
...those first 2 photos are my old Chevies from the 60's trying to emulate drag cars, the 52 sedan had homemade reversed stock wheels, the business coupe belongs to a friend .
49 - 61 235 - 2" dropped spindles - disc brakes - s10 5 spd - s10 rear end - fenton in & out - a/c - fun-fun-fun
406 small block, 4 speed with Hurst 3 speed linkage [separate Hurst shifter handle for reverse] G-body 10 bolt with Americans.
49 Cruiser, that's the look i want, only i want a 283 or 327, 4 speed, 55-57 Chevy rear end. That bumper less front end is starting to grow on me i have mine off right now for some grill repairs but still have the splash pan on but i like your look without the splash pan. Rocky, i like the look of yours too! Tim
I have always loved the Chevrolet fat fender cars from 49 - 52 They had a real classic look to them. Jimbo
shameless plug... check out my build thread. I'm gonna be selling these crossmembers. I have built a few 49-54 chevys. PM me if you need any help http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/road-to-redemption-49-chevy-coupe-build.942709/
What does everyone think of the 51 without the front bumper and splash pan? I will try to get some pics of mine without the bumper. Tim
