I like your idea of building the chassis so the frame could go back to original - shows a lot of ingenuity and you have done it all up right! Like the 327 with the 5 speed combo too.

    a small update.
i built the open drive ladder bars how the rolling bones built theirs.... used some schedule 40 pipe and flattened it in the press, welded them to the existing 34 bones and added some nice gussets...

I received my open drive kit from hot rod works.. what an amazing quality product. loved it! bolted right on and looks great.

also i yanked the engine and did some detailing! installed a new 1 wire GM alternator. All new brake system had been installed, wheel bearings and wheel seals.. The driveshaft is at the shop getting built. Time to do the rear shocks tonight and bleed the brakes... This car is going to be a sweet ride across the country! And of course i plan on doing a day by day thread on the 3 trips we are taking! The race of gentlemen, Bonneville, and a trip to NC to see some friends.

    a few pictures to fallow

Ran all the brake lines and installed the rear shocks.. the rear shocks are from a 78 dodge charger . They fit right in the existing holes in the rear crossmeber .. and i used a small spacer to bolt the bottom through the rear wishbone hole..
Waiting on a new set of brake shoes and the chassis will be completely done
Also I managed to extract a key thay was broken off in my column drop. I ordered a blank from early ford store and my brother hand filed it to fit.. it works like a charm

Finally received the driveshaft back from the shop. They build a custom 3 inch tube shaft with new yokes and joints . Shot it with some black paint and bolted it in. The chassis is now done and complete .. my brake shoes have been back ordered so I'll have to wait for them to arrive to bleed the brake system. The wood body mounts will be trimmed out tonight and the body will be ready to set on tomorrow

The body has been reinstalled and ready to finish assembling the car. Once it's a fit back up I'll adhere the outter door skins on and start straightening out this wavy fiberglass

Haha I wish! I haven't done much to the car. I took on two customer cars to build. One is about done then I can start the other.. I did get a nice set of WINGS gauges for it. That's all I have done. Here's a few pics

And if anyone has one, I'm looking for a stainless engine turned haneline dash insert.. help!

Finally made it to the end of the thread. Least I get to see the updates from here live. Been an interesting view to see how these glass bodies are handled, stepping away from many a SR type build. Subscribed.

Showtime rods also makes the body. But you have to put them together.

Would consider buying a glass car but value them below a steel car. And keep finding a steel car I want more
