I don't know about BBC. They don't look like they have enough head bolt holes. Look's like they only have 4 bolts per cylinder. Like early hemi. BBC should have 5 per cylinder.

Give us some dimensional data. Bore centers, head bolt distances and such.
...Pontiac uses 4 bolts per cylinder...hhhmmmm:cool:

Didn't MT make some for a BBF? That would be ten bolts or four per cylinder also..

I thought maybe Ford, but the top row of bolts on a Ford form a crescent, not in a straight line like the holes in the heads shown. These heads would fit the early hemis, Chrysler and DeSoto. Could also be Pontiac, like 73RR said. Not even close for BBC. Need bolt c-c measurements. Really interesting find though, hope somebody comes up with the correct answer.

  17. I sure want to think that they are ford but I am no doubt mistaken.

tell you what would help is if everyone posted the face side if head that they have so we can ball park it.

I think Thompson made early Chrysler Hemi type heads for several engines, I think Pontiac included. I've got the catalog somewhere...

I got some more measurements .
head to block surface is is 8 inch wide 22 7/8 long
where the valve cover goes measurement is 10 7/8 wide 22 7/8 long head bolts are 4 7/8 apart
head bolt length from left to right is 19 3/8 from left to right
intake bolts are 4 7/8 part from each other hope that helps

Maybe you could go to a local parts house. They might have some head gaskets to compare.

That's 2.1926 gallons! Easy! What the hell? Blankety hell. Too lazy to calculate. Right about 500 CI.
So...Thompson made hemi heads for 392, FE, and Pontiac at least. Might have been others. I think these were fairly crude slabs allowing multiple drilling patterns...?

  25. Yea I actually used an online calculator I think it comes out to 502 and change. But that means nothing to me 502" is easy to get in several configurations and I still don't know what they bolt onto. well that and the vehicles we play with were still named in cubic inches so I think f someone is going to talk metric they should translate.

But I really have seen a pair of the MT Pontiac heads. The guy said that there were only two pair made and he wouldn't let me touch 'em unless I showed him money. That damned money situation gets me every time.
