Hi I'm looking for any information on a racer/inventor doc Wilbur out of northern California. He raced a 1955 or 1956 ford f100 with a Cadillac engine. Last I heard it was sold to a guy at Beale air force base. Any information of any records, pictures, or location would be appreciated.

I was stationed at Beale from 74-78 and an f100 pickup with Booneville tags on the dash was in a shop right off of Main Street in Marysville. Tried to buy it for years while I was there. Ended up buying another f100 and took it back to NY when I was sent to Okinawa late 78.

If you ever saw the truck, you should easily be able to tell if it was a 55 or 56, the 53,54,55 trucks had the slanted post at the windshield, the 56 (my favorite) has a wraparound windshield with the staight up and down post.

Yes that is the one I am talking about. My dad knew doc and when he died my dad bought a couple cars from his son but we lost contact with the son. He also had a 40 ford delivery that I tried to buy but he wouldn't sell

  7. I think the truck you're looking for is in Hot Rod magazine Sept 1955.
