would like old Half Moon Bay photos I ran a c/gas 56 chevy and wish I had a photo also be fun to see everything else that ran then 1964-65...Andy Brisio was the starter with a flag don't know when they got lights....
There is a Bakery in downtown Half Moon Bay , and its walls are covered with old photos from the Drag Strip..... Cool place to visit!
I read somewhere once, that an oil truck was dispensed to the track to oil down the pit area to keep the dust down. But, the truck driver instead oiled down the strip! Anyone know the story, and how was it cleaned up? I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
The Half Moon Bay Bakery also sells tshirts and sweats, etc to commemorate the track. It's owner, Mark, is a Willys guy who grew up at that track and was part of the group that was trying to bring it back. They have a BIG event there every year. There are tons of photos of cars on that track over on Drag Cars in Motion thread.
I have been there too. I would recommend taking a visit to see it. More photos than you are likely to get posted here. ..but then HAMB is pretty amazing in the members abilities to find info and share it.
