Connecticut had city or MVD branch codes on the license plates.
This 50 Olds was registered in Bloomfield, just north of Hartford.
Amazing amount of trash in the old mental closet. ;)

    Refueling.jpg
The "City of Yuma" endurance flight in Yuma, Arizona 1949. They set the record on October 10th, 1949 with 1,124 hours, nearly 47 days in the air. Here they are refueling where they would transfer gas cans from the refuel car along with other supplies in a 1948 Buick. The record put Yuma on the map for an ideal place for aviation and helped reopen the military base after WWII - which is still open to this day(MCAS Yuma).

Pilots, Bob Woodhouse and Woody Jongeward. You can tell they've lost a few pounds after being confined to the cockpit during the flight!
