Hot Rods 1934 Ford PU latches Question

Am considering purchasing door latches through MAC'S. Does anyone know about the quality of their latches. Thanks in advance.

 

I am not a fan of the repoduction door or window parts. I had my spring brake in the door latch and shattered my window while it was down. I have a set of original ones if needed.

 

I'm using original latches but repro strikers. I'd recommend the originals if you have them.

 

Before buying Macs I would check United Pacific. I have had a chance to check out their latches and they seem to be very accurate. They may be selling the same product?????????

They are not hard to rebuild if you some.

 

That is the problem - I don't have any and they are hard to find.

I checked with UP and they said their latches are made in overseas, but they have not had any problems with them. They do supply Mac's and Bob Drake. Thanks

 

I got some that need rebuilding.

 

Flip: I bought a UPI wiper motor for my cabrio....got it off Amazon. Might be cheaper.
