Art & Inspiration Looking for artist rendering from several years ago

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by HOTRODPRIMER, Mar 4, 2015.

  1. Long shot I know but I have been looking for a artist rendering that was in Street Rodder magazine ( I think that's where I saw it)

It could have been Tom Taylor or Sanford or who knows?

Not much to go on I know but you guys have found stuff that I thought was impossible in the past.

The image is of a black 49 Ford coupe with flames,a louvered hood and a interesting grill treatment with the bottom of the grill mirroring the top. HRP

  8. I think I remember the picture and my bet would be that it was in Custom Rodder as well they had artist features all the time.

  9. Never bought a custom rodder magazine in my life, that's not to say the artist was featured in that magazine. HRP

I've checked Steve Stanford's Tom Taylor's Eric Brockmeyer's & Jimmy Smith's sites with no luck. The black Ford with flames featured above is on Steve Stanford's Facebook page. Thom Taylor does not show any of his artwork on a site. Can you tell us more about the grill treatment to help us pin in down more. I found this and wondered if this could possibly be a copy of the front end treatment you were talking about. I still can't find a black with flames & louvered hood 49 Ford though.

  16. The lower grill section mirrored the top,it was like front of another hood and the trim around it looked just like the top,,another thing I recall is the bumper was notched for the bullet in the center. HRP

I remember the pic your talking about. I thought I had it saved in my pic's but, I can't seem to find it. I also liked that grille treatment. Hopefully someone else has a picture of it. I'll try and search for it again in a little while. It's driving me crazy that I can't find it. I think I have too many pic's saved. LOL,

I looked again through my saved pic's and it 's no where to be found. I thought I had it saved. I did some searching on the web and I did find one that's similar. If I'm my memory serves me right I believe it's on a car built by Ian Roussel.

  24. The grill treatment was very similar to the one you posted, but it sported a bumper with a notch to match the grill opening. HRP

I think there is a reason why this headlight treatment isn't seen too often. Bob
