  1. Here we go! This is me and the goat back in '82. I still look like a dork, lol!

    That's funny right there!!

  8. About that hair, my forehead kept growing and thinning in the back. Self inflicted baldness is the cure!

I was behind one of those in traffic yesterday. Some old guy driving :)

  12. Are you someplace in Iowa? The '64 GTO is one of the few musclecars that is HAMB friendly, and the 'axle job is a great start IMO!
    Solid body, too.

Love the old Goats, especially Brutus.

  14. I knew it wouldn't be long before someone mentioned Brutus.
    Yeah, I know it was a '65 ;)

What a clean car to start with. Love the straight axle idea too.

  19. Those uni-lug keystones are out! Got something else going under it. As far as the "freaky" part, it has to do with the induction system. That is Area 51 stuff for now. I'm smack dab in the middle of Iowa....jasper county. I better get caught up on pics and posts.

  20. Straight axle is in place. Notice anything different on top of the frame? The 3.70 gear, 10 bolt rear end is out of a 65 Chevelle. in this pic you can see a mistake we made on the front spring mount. It has been corrected. You'll see the new front shackle mount soon. image.jpg

  21. My brother wanted to cap the spring hole. Lol. That sounds bad. Lmao! image.jpg

  23. The shock mount looked odd so it was removed.

The motor is a WS 65 389, btw. The tri-power is on the shelf.

  25. This is the upper shock mounts from So Cal. You can see the new front shackle mount also. The upper shock mount will get a piece welded over the 2 sides. The lower control arm mount in the frame will be covered also. In fact, all of the holes you see on the side of the frame will be covered. image.jpg

It took balls to straight axle that GTO, I'm glad to see there are still guys out there that love to break the rules. I'm watching this one.

  27. Notice the polished bell housing? Dad kept me busy back in the day by sanding and hand polishing that thing. Boy was I glutten for punishment. Lol. Got two 64 hoods hanging up on the wall. One is gonna get a hole cut in it. The poncho police will be po'd, big time! Can't wait! image.jpg

Very cool! Have a 67 we are working on, no straight axle though.

  29. Lots of work to clean up a factory frame! Looking good
