I am partial to the 30/31 body style. Here's mine being built as we speak. :) chad\'s roadster.jpg

I was going to call the company and Brookville before I made the decision to pull trigger. Was thinking I can pick it up at Carlisle hopefully

  3. Caution when handing money over to any vendor is always wise, particularly when no value exchange occurs immediately. That being said, by all appearances there's at least a handshake relationship, if not a direct connection/ownership, between Ammuscle and Brookville. This sort of "sale" is not uncommon for a production operation that wants to fill the future pipeline with orders to maintain good production flow, especially if sales are appearing to lag. Likewise, if Ammuscle is a marketing arm of Brookville, that's a standard way for a manufacturer to cut prices without having their dealers raise holy hell for them undercutting the market list price in the manufacturers name. I've bought both inexpensive and expensive (to me anyway) parts from Ammuscle and have always been treated well............so far anyway.

I always thought 28/29's looked good as roadsters and sedans and 30/31's looked good as coupes and pickups. Having said that ,it's tough to beat the look of Nutrockers 30 roadster !
Whatever you decide ,you better hurry up, cause your frame project is rapidly disappearing under a pile of my Econoline parts :)

Over on the barn , there is a thread, about getting in & out of roadster's (( Fat guys only ! )) Ford 30-31 roadster doors are longer then 28-9 ,but 30-1 roadster door's are shorter then 30-1 coupe & Tudor , & the 32 are longer then 28-31 models ,.
I have a 30 Tudor easy in & out , but my 31 roaster none channel a big pain in the but ,
    in & out .
So I used my lathe & a Sparco quick realeace , Now easy . My self 6 ft 270

Not too fat, 6'1" - 230 but I had a hip replaced a couple of years ago. Very hard to get in '28 - '29's with a top up (or coupe, PU, etc). '30 - '31's are easier. I have to say I really like the looks of the earlier roadsters though. I have owned several Model A's, several model years. I have kept my '30 coupe.

  13. I like the firewall of the 30 better. no depression for the fuel cutoff! I like the way the cowl flows into the windshield posts on the 30-31. but I am the minority.
Also the size a car feels will be more of a question of how you set it up, more so than the inch lost

I certainly could use MORE room in my '31. In hindsight I should have eliminated the package tray. And once the interior was done, and the kick panels installed, foot room is at a premium. Once you're in, you're pretty much limited to one position, with little room.

Every '32 that I've set in seemed to have lots more room.
An extra inch CAN make a difference!

IMHO the 28-29 roadsters look the best, but since you are a tall guy you may appreciate that extra space in a 30-31.

  17. I think the 30-31 cowl looks better, just a more finished look.

A friend of mine had a stock configuration of a '29 roadster, and he had very limited legroom. I built a '29 roadster on a '32 chassis and couldn't believe the difference in legroom. I'm over 6' and about 250 and fit fine. Getting in is a little fun to watch, but once I'm there I'm fine. Drove from Mi. to Cal. without cramps or discomfort. I like the looks of a channeled '29 better than the hi-boy. But the hi-boy has much more room. The hi-boy always looked "fat" to me. The one thing to remember is you're the only one you have to make happy. Have fun.

I'm not following how the chassis makes a difference in interior space. Did you also do some body mods to it? If not, I'm not following how you can have more room with a diff. chassis.

Not trying to be jerky/ I'm really curious.

This only makes sense if he had a channeled 29 on a 29 frame, and went 29 body on 32 unchanneled.
That's the only way that ever make sense.

29 on 32 is sweet. 29 on 29 is a humble and down to earth rod. But a 31 channeled over any a boner frame just screams hot rod!

I have PLENTY of room in my 29. And I'm 6'1 200 lbs. Also sit way down in the car. Its very comfortable. But anybody shorter cant reach the pedals. Lots of foot room too!

That black 28 is unreal. Where can I find more pics?

  25. Depends on if you mean the one xix32 posted, or the one I did. If you mean the shiny one look up "Rudy Rodriguez, then either 28 or 29 roadster" You'll find lots of pics because it's loved by many. To get you started, here's a few detail shots; http://www.hotrod.com/cars/featured/0606rc-1929-ford-roadster-av8/
