Found this one in a local yard. Could be had for $1800.P.M. me if interested I'll hook you up.All glass is good, floor pans shot, most of body is in good shape.

That's the first GMC blower I have seen stuffed on a Stude engine.
Is it a Caddy manifold modified to fit, or soemthing else?

If you are referring to the slingshot...that's an olds motor.

The Studebaker is getting a blown injected hemi.

 

Here's a friend of mines 48, its running a 143,6cui V8 flathead (Think from a 40ies something Simca?) and a 3-speed manuel. The striper on the pictures is Tom from Hamburg.

Top will be a tube frame one piece lift off carson style top. There was an article in Rod & Custom a few years ago I saved will details on how to build. This car gets better gas milage than anything I own, (22mpg) thanks to the tuned port & 5 speed.

 

Here is our Stude. It is a East Coast car that ran at York US 30.

Here is mine, the S-10 is giving up it's frame for the project truck. I hope this works this is my first try at pictures.

 

Saw this one for sale in Sunnyvale CA yesterday. I'd be tempted if someone hadn't put the cloth sunroof in it.

 

There was an option available from Studebaker called a "Skytop".
It was a cloth and steel insert similar to the one pictured.
With Studebaker's, an owner can send off a request (and some $) to the Studebaker National Museum and get a copy of the original 'build sheet'.
That way you could tell if the car was originally built with the 'Skytop' option.
Hard to tell anything from these pic's.
A top like this was also sold in the aftermarket from companies like J.C.Whitney, or Warshawsky's

Here's a picture of the sunroof I took today. It looks kind of aftermarket to me but then I'm not really that familiar with Studebakers.
Can anyone tell from the photo? It didn't occur to me to look at or get a shot of the headliner.

 

Do you know anything sbout it? "Real" or aftermarket sunroof? Bagged?

 

My altered wheelbase 55' champion, I think I can safely say it is the one and only altered wheelbase 55' SEDAN in existence. (Cause I'm the only one stupid enough to do it) big block Buick, turbo 400, 3.73 8 3/4 Chrysler rear. 11.72/112 in the 1/4.

Love the pics of the car back in a better time in Detroit...fella's all done up...where was that body shop?

 

From Belton, Mo. last summer.

 

The building is still there with the original sign still hanging. I have been trying to acquire the sign from the owners. So far no luck. Its on Michigan Ave. and 28th street.
