Found this one about a year and a half ago, in storage since '64. '49 Merc and some very minor mods done in the late '50s. Just finished up a different project, so hope to be driving the '40 in a couple of months now that I have some time to spend on it. I'm just gonna make it safe and driveable, and have fun with it.

  4. I thought this thread was dead. Good luck with your find. I would do anything to get my 40 back. The guy swore to me he would sell it back to me when I was ready. You can't even trust your friends anymore. Mine is somewhere in this thread.

What a great thread....shame so many dead PB links at the begining. Some truly amazing coupes out there, prob the 3rd best design ever behind the '32 Ford and 55 Chevy...IMHO.

......oh boy do I....:D:D:D:D:D Stay tuned.....
but for now here is a cropped version of that pic.

This car was my uncles during that movie. He and his brothers (who had different auto shops) redid this car. It was a beautiful car inside and out! A lot of work and detail in it. It was also entered in several car shows throughout CA and won. My uncle sold it in the '80s (not far from us) but not sure what happened after that. It sure was a nice one!!
