Event Coverage **STRAY KAT 500 / May 1-3, 2015

How about a STRAY KAT 500 update? We are working on this years mailer and the pre-entries are already being sent. If you want something for free get your pre-entry in right away. We give away to the first 150 entries a kool event shirt. If you hadn't yet and you are going to the show, go to our web site and register on line www.straykatkustoms.com I want to make sure all of the HAMBers that will be at the show will get one of the giveaways. The Show is called the SK500 because we thought that it sounded kool and we would limit the entries to 500. We thought we would never hit that 500 mark. Well we have and went over by 100+ last year... So we are going to call it quits at 600 entries. All pre-registered Kustoms and Hot rods will have a place to park and hangout with us.

Hoping I haven't hit a brick wall on my plans to be there. Started checking on insurance coverage on the Hudson for personal liability and collision damage. I had been advised by a couple of people here who have taken cars over that they used Grundy's with no problem and their cars were on Aussie registration.
Grundy's came back to me and said no go. Now I am checking with American Collectors and will try a few more.
This is a must have before I commit. Just got back a week ago from the first major run and did 4000kms return to the Australian Kustom Nationals at Phillip Island Victoria. Only one small problem and a few cosmetic things to rectify and that starts next week. We also have the problem of the work stoppages at Long Beach wharves holding up containers and the shipper is saying allow 3 extra weeks.

I saw the pics of the Hudson at the show on the HAMB. It looks like it was a kool one. Wish I could have made it.

Hope you can get the insurance worked out, its very important to be properly covered. You have a lot of heart and soul went into your kustom.

I pre-registered on 11/12/14. I'm excited to come back for my second trip. What a blast it was last year! There were some awesome vehicles, and people that I saw. I'm ready to do it again. Thanks for all your hard work, Mick.

Is it a pretty good show?

 

It's a great show!

 

One of the best. Parking in Beautiful Downtown Dewey OK. Plenty of flea markets and other stuff to do and some kool places to eat. Oh yeah, lots (as in lots) of really nice cars.

It's funny how every year someone takes my question seriously! Except 3wLarry, who just tells me I'm a nutcase. Drove the '47 over to MRpants house yesterday. I think we are both ready for spring.

 

Registration mailed today. Do I have to wash my car?

** Host hotel FYI........I just talked to the hotel manager and he assured me that the Email that is being sent out is something that is automatically sent from Choice Privileges group when a hotel is sold and in the process of changing hands. You might call them just to verify that your room is ok but the new manager is a car guy and real kool. This will be a good change for the car show.

Mick did you get email? Basically it says no trip this year due to insurance issues and the go slow at the Long Beach docks(80,000 containers held up). But definitely on next year. I will keep in contact.

 

Sorry to hear about your issues that you ran into. I can't imagine the headaches involved trying to ship a car. Especially one as KOOL as your Hudson. The Kool thing when I read your email, it looks like you are trying to drive the wheels off of the Hudson. No sweat we will see you next year.

 

We made our reservations for this years show at the host hotel when we were checking out on Sunday of last years show. I called today to verify they still had our reservations in their system since they had changed hands. Luckily everything was as it should be. Now, we are just watching the clock go tick, tock while we wait for April 30th.
