Thanks for all the encouraging words guys, hope you'll continue to enjoy the trip with me and Peter on this one.

Thanks Dennis, it's not terrible, I have seen far, far worse! And for how "loose" this body was to begin with it is actually lining up pretty easily. We will get her all straightened out, she's gonna be a real peach all said and done. We will cut it till it looks right but we do have to keep a minimum glass height requirement to satisfy the swiss DMV inspector... it will be in the neighborhood of a 2.5-3" cut. Cut a a smidge more up front than out back. Yea, gonna make some sort of a removable roof insert panel I think... lots of work to do before we get there, ha!

Guess I'm doing my job correctly then... Subrails are in fact swept up to match the frame kickup. There are several pie cuts in succession in front of the factory kickup right in the area where the rear legs of the X member attach to the frame rails. The cuts are ground smooth on the outside of the framerails and covered completely by the X member section that fits inside the framerail. The rail is also thinned out as it meets the rear crossmember. This weld seam is burned in nice and hot and then carefully ground away to leave a factory stamped appearance. The majority of it is reinforced with the lower rear crossmember gusset.

Brookville makes the entire a pillar assembly, but we only needed the bottoms and at $500 each for the brookville pillars, this was a better route.

Didn't get as much time on the coupe this week as I had hoped, had to drop a few axles and fix a few trucks for my shop landlord. Free rent is good!

Today I whipped up a rear floorpan, a rear inner tailpan panel, and driver's side triangle trunk bracket.

I wish this one was mine, but it belongs to my buddy Peter. I'm just thrilled to be given the opportunity to build it. I've got too many projects of my own already...!

One $10 trailer fender from our local surplus outlet, sliced and diced six ways to sunday, recontoured and reshaped, etc...

Made a panel for the intermediate floor section, this will be attached with 8 countersunk bolts for ease of removal for access to the rear of the transmission. And with that, the floors are done, the front section and toe board will be wood like the original with a steel trans cover and some tins for sealing the pedals/column and MC access. All the major metalwork on the main body is done, just gotta make a pair of door bottoms/inners, skin 'em and we're ready to give her a haircut.

Ok, it's about time to give my 2 cents to this build up. Being the very happy guy who will own and drive this 3 window later this year, I want to thank Andy for what he did and will do to this! He puts a huge amount of "soul", passion and hard work in this project - just amazing! I am sure there will be some more killer details added to this Kohler Kustom 32 coupe! I wish I would live closer...but that is gonna be a hell of a journey!
