They're probably 'bout as useful as tits on a boar hog.

In looking at all my chopped custom cars pics, about half have them, about half don't.

My shoebox is chopped 4 inches, and I'm currently working on a new interior. Just trying to figure out whether I should worry about 'em, or ditch 'em.

    What do you guys think?

Being a retired upholster, they are one of the more difficult things to cover and make look good. So my vote would be no also! By your avatar you already wear sun glasses.

Upholster a visor, ouch that sounds like bad taste. We plan to run the visor back on our shoebox after the 1 1/2 " chop. But certainly won't tip it down that just looks sad.
Okay it looks like my reading skills are not up to much. It clearly says interior visor in the header.Duh....

  7. Kiwi, I think he means the interior fold down visors.

I think some of you guys thought I was referring to putting a Fulton visor on a custom.

I'm not. I changed the title to say "Interior Sun Visors".

Putting a Fulton on a chopped custom? Ewwwww.

If you have them already in your possession, you should try them.I guess thats the best way to figure it out does they look good or not on your ride.I like to see too how they look like on shoebox with 4"chop.
I dont have them and it could be good to see how they look before i spend money for them.

Try a plexi-glass style visor. You will have to custom make it. When the sun is in your eye`s, you will need it immediately. Might be easyier than trying to find your sunglasses.

Drove my chopped 55 Olds over 160K miles, definitely needed them at times!

  18. Sorry, I misunderstood, thought you meant a outside Fulton style visor. Carry on.

If it were MY chopped shoebox , I would install the visors. IMHO , they finish off the look , and if you're driving into the sun , they are there to fold down. When you don't need them , they're up out of the way , lookin' good.

I would keep them and consider chopping them down, too. Also, do you use sun visors on your daily driver? If the answer is yes, you already know what you should do in your chopped custom.

I've had my chopped coupe for over 20 years and never needed inside visors. Wear sun glasses if you need to block out the sun.

Drove my 48 Chevy Coupe with 3-1/2" chop a couple of years without sun visors. Then took the time to put them in and use them all the time. Visors were swap meet items from 70's Chrysler product. Covered them with left over material from original upholstery job from 5 years prior.

If you are going to drive the car much you will use them just like you do in your everyday driver. Really don't get cars without things like windshield wipers, outside mirrors, etc. I drive my cars a lot and not just to the local cruise. Sun Visors 48Chev.jpg

That's my thought, the interior looks more finished with them installed.

  26. If you need wipers, because you are going to drive it, you need visors.
If it's a trailer queen, leave all that stuff off.

I do lots of interiors and I always do visors because a headliner with out visors is like a face without eyebrows. I do however on some chops narrow the visors to keep them looking proportionate to the windshield size.
