At the auction there was so much old iron at went for pennies on the dollar, It's kind of a good thing I didn't have any money or I would have gone mad trying to save everything! One guy (a hoarder) bought 9 Model A's &T's for less than $2000! If I would had known before hand I would have shared more information ~ But I thought it was just gonna be another farm equipment / scrap car auction:mad:

There's a guy in Fresno with a beautiful one. He often shows it off at Chubby's diner on cruise nights.

There was a flock of Kaisers in San Jose in the '80s, all had Oldsmobile 324s and 371s, most had Olds hydros, but a couple were stick shifts...
My wife wanted to drop one, and nickname it "FELIX". (because of the windshield)
    Wonderful, wonderful cat....

  11. Good job getting it running. Seems to be OK shape. May even clean up more as the rings loosen up. did you get the brakes fixed also?

I can only play it on the weekends, So yesterday went to pull the master cylinder & when I opened it was brand freaken new (and dry filled it up & pumped up the brakes~No leaks)!!! SCORE! I ran it for about 45 minutes to an hour it really didn't smoke all that much & I found a gas tank at a mom-n-pops junk yard for $50! I'm thinking it's a great Valentine's day present for my wife!?

Jeff I need to finish the title work & figure out the shifter, It travels way past the point of stop.
I had it move a couple feet under it's own power (even spun a tire!:) ) ( We have a large trailer blocking it in at the lot) and I had a b*tch of a time getting it in reverse.

  14. Great looking car!! My grandfather had one in the 50s. He loved that Kaiser so much it became his nickname.

Nice ride. There's one here in Belton that's driven whenever it's a decent day. I was surprised to see a real spotlight on the car. A very handy thing to have. I would definitely contact the Kaiser Car Club. The interior looks pretty good. You scored well. Great job.

I'm sure you already know this one Chuck, throw some chain and a handfull of bolts/nuts (count how many to be sure you get that many back out) and have your kids shake the living piss out of that tank. Will clean it up a lot.
I've been using the tank sealer kits from Northern, NOT KREEM!!! they come with an acid and a prep then the sealer, works like a dream, smells like no other! do it outside or be ready to get super high

That is a beauty. I can understand the Kaiser guys who collect them whenever one comes up for sale.

I can just imagine these colorful Olds-powered jellybeans running around town, towing racecars, taking people to work and then playing on the weekend.

I ended up using a can of oven cleaner & some old Behr deck cleaner (old blue bottle- ruled to harsh) & let it sit for a half hour ~ Until my daughter's boy friend pointed out that it was 'smoking' oops! so quickly purred it out & the rest the crap came flowing out! ready for a few pin holes to brazed & a acid bath! :) and a coating.

    HehHehHeh...

Be careful mixing household chemicals, and especially if you don't know some basic chemistry.

Vinegar will clean the rust off steel and lye will clean the grease off. Don't try mixing them together though! Same with oven cleaner. Oven cleaner is basically spray-can lye (dangerous stuff) and that deck cleaner probably contains oxalic acid (often called "wood bleach".)

Mixing those two together in a closed container will usually result in an explosion.
