Wicked build man.my dad is building a 54' now and I'm finding a lot of inspiration in your build. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
i am building a 1953 210 also with the same chop,i kept the rear glass as you have done.I was wondering what or better yet ...how are you going to cut the rear glass. Its herculite and cannot be cut down.Back then we would just slide the glass into the lower part of the frame...I dont want to use Lexan...what are your thoughts...
I'm having a custom piece of glass made. Its not cheap ($1500 or so) got the stainless belt line trim cut down and fitted, The next pictures I post the car will have paint!
as promised, I finally painted the car this weekend. It's been a LONG time coming ( id estimate about 300-400 hours of bodywork plus another 30 or so hours actually spraying the car) but well worth the effort. PPG makes a great product, pictures do not do it justice, the pictures below are right out of the gun and are not wetsanded or buffed at all. In the booth. my best attempt to capture the metallic, its very very subtle and will only been seen in direct sunlight. out on the shop floor. Front clip
But not digital either, very nice looking. Absolutely amazing transformation from start to finish. Looks like it will be a pleasure to drive anywhere also.
great job! way to stick with. very inspirational !! can't wait to see it assembled and trimmed out. is the color a black or dark blue metallic? it is hard to tell. Larry
Its called nighthawk black pearl. Its a black with a little bit of dark blue pearl. So most of the time the car looks black, however under certain lights, like a street light it will have a blue haze.
I was just looking at the pictures again and really like the reflection in the rear fenders/quarters. Can't wait for more updates. Ryan.
some small updates, Mounted the hood trunk, rear bumper and taillights Also replaced the stock 54 wheel with a 55 Bel Air wheel I got for Christmas. Its completely original and un restored some teasers from the upholstery shop
The interior will be very nice , but I have to admit I would have went with black with white pleats. But I love white interiors ! always have. This car is turning out absolutely fantastic. Larry
Starting to shape up. I'm very pleased with the car. Ran the heater hoses and mounted the heater control valve. also got the intake installed, I had it powdercoated a while back. And then there is this. Aprox ride height.
