  8. I'm afraid I don't know how to make these images reappear. They disappeared when the format changed.

Cheap, fast and reliable. Pick two.

Are you going to put a slice in the roof skin at about 2 o'clock to spread the backside to meet the tulip panel?

I'm really enjoying this project. It's very satisfying to see a totally rusted hunk-o-junk brought back. Great work!

  12. Yes, there will be a relief cut there. This chop is to make the quarter window look proportioned and not pinched like a lot I see,and to leave the top insert the same opening size to insure the original fabric kit and metal channel fits it right. This also will make the "blind spot" between the quarter glass and rear window look "fat". A lot of the metal being cut out, is used to make fitment pieces in other places. A lot of welding still....more pictures to come so stay tuned.

My Dad re-did a chop on a 34 five-window about twenty years ago, using sections of another roof to get the same result you are going for. He un-squished the quarter windows, making it look like it should have from the beginning. It's hard to get a 34 five-window with a harder chop to look right.

I relly like the way you are getting the quarter windows into a better shape. Having a five window myself, this project has been near and dear to me. Keep up the great work!

Great eye on the quarter windows and chop. They complement each other perfectly.

  22. Thanks guys, it takes a while lining everything up. Wanted the rain drip to flow perfectly. Can't wait to see the finished result with the windshield frame and all garnish mouldings chopped. Got a 59ab block, maybe a tremec 5 speed to back it.

  23. very nice. Got a color picked out yet?

Unfortunately, I don't think they make PPG hot rod black anymore.
