Just got this from a reseller. Would like to find any information about its history. It has been stretched to a little over 22 feet long. Seems to be an older custom. I am working on it to bring it back to its former glory. Data tag indicates it was born as a 1958 Fleetwood Sixty Special Any info on history would be appreciated. Please post or PM me. Bill
More Pics! Here ya are Has stock 6 liter 310 hp engine. Notice the difference in a stock 1958 Sixty Special Fleetwood where the front fender spear ends, and the rear fender spear begins? Has been lengthened here.
Wow, a surfer's dream! What is the black painted sign behind the side windows? The rear of the roof reminds me of a mercury breezeway.
Great name for the car! "Surfers Dream"! Here is a pic of the sign. Unfortunately phone is disconnected and can't find any info on the shop "We bring your dead vehicle back to life" is/was their motto
That's a New Hampshire phone number and "432" is Derry/Londonderry NH area, the town I live in. I have never seen this car or heard of this shop before.
"Flower Car" in google images shows one pic which leads to this (dead) link www.yukongifts.com. Always wanted one of those... well maybe not that big
I want to stay on this thread and not hijack it myself, but here is a 1958 Cadillac Eureka Flower Car. It is the same length as our custom Fleetwood, but built on a Cadillac Commercial - Series 86 - 156" wheelbase Chassis.
I thought "flower car", also from the moment saw it. When I was a little kid, my Dad used to deliver caskets, in his spare time. (his friend owned a factory) On Saturdays, he would take me along. Remember going to these inner city Cleveland Funeral Homes. All had garages with gleaming black shiny cars. Might even be cool to paint it black again. ?? Great find. Hope you have a big garage. JT
The Car was never a flower car it started life as a 4door sedan, if you would like the phone number of the man who changed and stretched the car PM me i can have you contact him directly, he actually found your post and asked me to offer his info. No really t was NEVER a flower car.
Very much would like to talk with him. Sending you a 'private conversation' that seems to be the replacement of PM on this Board. Not tried this before. If does not connect with you, send another reply? Thanks!
This is going to make me sound dumb but what actually is a "Flower car". I could guess but why guess when I can ask.
It's the car that holds the flowers at a funeral. I guess if you're important enough, you get a Cadillac El Camino thing full of flowers for your procession. I'll get a kids Little Red Wagon painted black..
One flower car in a funeral is very unusual. The 1958 Cadillac Eureka Flower Car cost about $12,500. Twice the price of any other 1958 Eldorado and more than the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud of the same year. Rare? Yeah. The 1958 Cadillac Eureka was made in custom production. Hand built. Eureka made FOUR only that year. The one below, a frame-off restoration. Last one running. Senior Car at Hershey. National award winner. Was completely restored with absolute precision parts. It has seven sheets of stainless steel and total cost almost $250,000.
The Viagrallac...that's a beautiful Custom Stretch......thanks for bringing that back up... @lothiandon1940 @Cadillac Bill could you possibly post a couple more pics some are redx'd or not visible...my joking aside you aced that...wow...any other custom Cadillacs?
Reposting the pictures. Most of our other cars are authentic. I had bought a 1958 Cadillac Limousine from the seller. He kept sending me pictures of this and I kept refusing. He kept lowering the price. Since we had four 1958 Cadillacs that I finally bought it for a parts car. When it showed up on the transporter, my wife and I really liked it. Kind of fun! I had a California Cadillac custom steering wheel that did not fit our authentic Cadillacs, so I put it on the car and works perfectly . Almost all the chrome is hard painted. Didn't like it at first, but it grows on you! Ready for Halloween at a car show. Trying to fit on my extended four post lift! Put some gold Sabre wheels on it At stock photo of a 1958 Cadillac Sixty Special. Notice the length. Personally I would NEVER have cut up a Sixty Special to make my car, but it was already done.....
