I have a 1958 GMC stepside ; all bone stock. Was thinking of giving it a better look. Has anybody used droppedaxles.com to drop the axles? Any thoughts Thanx
Yep, him and Okie Joe work together, both are in OK and near each other, great source. That is where my current axle is from.
I've been running one of Sid's dropped axles for 10 years now. Great guy to do business with, he'll let you know what else you might need to do to get the most from your axle (i.e. avoid bump steer, clearance problems, etc.), and can sell you any extra parts you may need.
I have installed several of Sid's axles and have also been good friends with him for about 25 years now. He is definitely great to deal with and does great work.
Got one of Sids axles under my 58 chevy and wouldn't hesitate to do business with him again. Go for it.
Just got my 37 Ford axle back from Sid, also bought spindles. He bent steering arms and put the proper camber in the axle, magna fluxed with new king pins and bushings. Came back looking great and even painted it for me. I talked to Sid several times on the phone about axles and he was extreamly friendly and helpful is why I went with him
Tell me your experience : who used him for a 55-59 truck and how low did you go? How is the ride compared with stock? Did you also have to do something with the springs? Want feedback PLEASE
I know about Okie Joe and Sids, they are both excellent sources, I don't know about the source asked about but if he is good with wither the Okie or Sid I wouldn't have a problem with him.
Talked to them yesterday at a swap meet, told them we were spreading the word on their excellent products and service.
