If, you have any pictures of Ty's '40 Ford Tub or knew his dad Art who built the Tub post the pictures here please. I'm trying to help Ty get pictures together after his computer took a dive. Thank you CRUISER
Wayne, I think I took the exact same picture at the Primer Nats. Always thought a 40 Tub would be cool. Dave

I will see if I can scan some photos of Art's convertible sedan. Art always claimed this was one of the 6 Ford built for the 39 Worlds Fair in NY. I have found another one here is LA which looks to be a 1940 not a conversion. Cool Hot rod!
Thanks guys keep them coming were trying to build a photo album. CRUISER <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->__________________

I think I took pictures of that car at El Mirage or Muroc about 12 years ago. Those pictures aren't unpacked after the move but I'll keep my eyes open. I doubt that it will be this week. Wayno

An original pic of when Ty's dad pulled the car out of the barn where they found it. More pics of it all originally put together to come soon. All 40 parts, all matching paint, and all 4 doors on this convertible that was never built by ford Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
OK... you have my interest. So whats this about 6 40 Ford Sedan Convertibles being made? Never heard that before. Anyone care to elaborate?
Ty called the ford museum. All they could tell him was that 6 were made, and only record of 4 getting destroyed like they were supposed to be. I can take more pics of the scrap book today of when they originally picked it up. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I've got a "Mr. 40's Fatstuff" catalog from 1992 with Art's tub on the cover that I'd be happy to donate to the cause. Art was a great guy and left us far too soon. Have Ty PM me if he'd like to have the catalog, tear sheets and a letter from Art to me.
Thanks JohnnyG. Although I had never heard of them being made I could believe Ford might have looked at the concept of building a 40 Deluxe Sedan Convertible ( I wish they had) and then changed their mind due to low sales in 39 and the fact that they were going to market a 40 Mercury Sedan Convertible for the higher end market. I would like to see your scrap book pictures if you have time to post them.
A '40 with '39 firewall and banjo wheel, plus a '40 Standard gauge cluster? If it started out as a '39 at least they swapped out the "wide-5" rims/brakes, but what else could a person look for in terms of '40- or '39-only items that can define what it is that wouldn't be bolt-on? Neat all the same.
Looks like a 40 DeLuxe dash and glove box with a 40 Standard dash cluster. Henry was probably using up the parts he already had on-hand.
