I'm having a hard time coming up with a name for my gasser. I started building a two lane black top 55 but now I would like to have it hand lettered like they were in the 60s. Going to put my garage name on the doors. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks for the help!! ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1422918553.931460.jpg

  3. Gas'en Five. There's always been a 55 Chevy in my family growing up and we called her the five. That's my idea.

Do a search on old race cars from the 60's. Plenty of cool names to chose from. And no matter what you come up with, they have all been used. Good luck.

In some weird way I instantly thought hammerhead shark when I saw the pic. So I'd call it "The Shark".

How about the "Stoned Ranger and Toronto"? I can't take credit for that however. It came from what was then the Story Lady in the late 60's/early 70's on KJR95, the local AM rock and roll station. They'd take common nursery rhymes, and other stories, and change them up; The Lone Ranger and Tonto took a beating from it's original format. My first Bracket Car was a 56 Chevrolet, 150 Business Coupe with a BBC, Powerglide trans, 68 Camaro 12 bolt/5.38 gears on a Moroso Brute Strength Differential. Initially the car only had a single bucket seat, and I called it Standing Room Only; later on, after a complete redo and painted white, it became Dandelion (after the Rolling Stones song), and said "Dandelion Will Make You Wise" on the trunk, one of the songs lyrics. Then my friends started writing , "Blow Away Dandelion" on their trunks, another one of the lyrics. Since your 55 is grey, how about a little play on words and call it "Grey Liberation"? That's what the "old folks" did with their play on words of "Gay Liberation". Kind of have to be tough to take that one on however. My FED was a short car, 120" wheelbase, so I called it "Short Circuit", but before the wheelie bars went on it could have been "Stand and Deliver". Never did name the rear motored Super Comp Dragster. Could always just bolt a couple of 55 MPH freeway speed signs to the doors. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

  25. Nope ben it is my name.

How about Ass Crack. I don't believe anyone has used that one yet.

If I get around to outfitting a "gasser" pickup this year I am torn between Stump Jumper or Bogger if you would use one of those I wouldn't have to make a decision on the name of mine. ;)
