I am building a 350 SBC for my 32 Plymouth. I think I want to go with a serpentine belt. I am interested in getting a factory setup off of a late model car. I am wondering of any late models with serptentine use a short water pump? Any one have any knowledge or experience with this? I am only running an alternator and an AC from vintage air.
    Thanks,
    Brad

No short water pumps are 68 and older. So there no lower pulley that would work with a serpentine belt.

  3. You might check withVA. They have a front runner. But I think it's for the long pump.

corvettes used short water pumps for a long time, at least into the early 1990s. They started using serpentine belts around 1985. That's the first place I'd look.

Trucks used short pumps thru 1972, also. but they were not serpentine.

edit: here's the water pump, short, reverse rotation, and it's even aluminum, and affordable.
