Dang Dude....you're like a Hot Rod Renaissance Man!
You're widdling out (Really Cool) brackets, welding, drilling, engines, machining, painting, upholstery (checked your page) and all while watching football!...
    (Totally Dig Your 38 & the F-3!)
Keep on Widdlin' & thanks again for the inspiration - Tommy

finished rear brake scoops, decided to make on larger than previously drew.

i uploaded some in process pics of the making, after cutting out football shaped 3/16" thick aluminum footballs, i hammer away until shape desired, it takes alot of test fits, but the aluminum shapes pretty easy. i then filed and sand (50 grit) 95% of the tool marks off, a few more test fits drilled and taped some holes etc...... later i sanded with 80, 100, 220 and red scotchbrite before polishing.

I started cutting out a couple aluminum brackets and thought "these have an odd shape", how about another, "Guess what these are going to be"

  10. Um...... uh..... they look like some drawings we did in our school days..... not sure what they are, but they are gonna look fantastic if you're making them.

i should have put something in 1st picture for a size reference, it's 1/4" aluminum plate.

this is the first test fit, and some "yankee 87" red clearance lights i'm changing to dual filament for rear parking light/turn signals. after much thinking i decided to mount on sides of my single rear brake/parking/license plate light.

    I like your confidence...
You build it, polish it / paint it right away...

    Where I live is + 95% humidity...
You weld something...it's rusty the next day.

I'll drive mine (if they call it a Ratrod..I'll %¢^]¥{™)
Make sure it works and then paint it....
    Maybe next build?
If I could paint it right away....!?
    Would save me lotso time...

    Thanks for sharing!
    Tommy

I'm sure i'll have to re-do a few things, but a lot i've done before so i have pretty good idea of were i'm going.

I'm also kind of building this one bass ackwards, and eyeballing more than i should.... time will tell

a few hours on the band-saw and grinder...
(removed 3, cut off short and put on the bottom to take up space for U-bolts to clamps tight) shorted, rounded and tapered all the others acouple inches. 4th from the top might be removed later if stance is too high.

got my axle shafts from "Moser", but need some bearings (ones i have aren't correct)..... starting to assemble brakes but need shorter wheel cylinder bleeders, everything is a very tight fit with this transverse spring mounted factory width.
i really like the parking brake cables that came with the '51 F-1 axle, just cleaned up the drums with a sander and clear coated. I really like the look of things "worn through use"........

thanks for nice comments! jeepers, i figure i'll be ready for Jalopy Showdown 2016 (also i only have stock model a parts, sorry)

garage looks like a bomb went off, but did get the body off and sitting stable on lift. next is to strip and start modifying frame just a little, plan to box, build a custom cross-member install a 239/255 with a "cough, couch" automatic tranny. also been considering some flourishing holes
