Yes, it does. I don't think I've ever seen those particular photos before. Rootie, your third photo in your last post really shows the seat has been moved forward quite a distance. One man that I spoke with in particular had some real inside information and he was adamant that Hepburn was basically crushed between the steering wheel and the seat as it was forced forward by the stretching fuel bladder. According to him Hep might have survived the actual impact with the wall if a standard metal tank had been used. Novis had notoriously bad fuel mileage and the idea behind the flexible bladder was supposedly that it would stretch somewhat and utilize all of the available area of the tail for fuel. I think the tank held something like 110 gallons.

Rootie, where was this photo taken? The "trophy girl" looks familiar but right now I can't place her. Am I crazy or what? Thanks for posting!

The early Indy and Champ cars should have a separate thread if they don't already. I think all of the photos and info are too important to just pour them in here. I have really enjoyed all of the posts.

I really can't say for sure though I believe it's a west coast track (Gilmore?) No you're not crazy, she looks familiar to me also and actually was hoping someone might recognize her. She's a real cutie probably a actress/starlet circa late 40s/50s.

Thanks Maggie. A great collection of old and not so old trucks and companies long gone.

Raymond Loewy design studio did in fact design the Rootes Group (Singer, Hillman and Sunbeam, including the Alpine,) cars in the 1950s.

Don't think he is taking a photo. Looks like he is kneeling holding a small child and she is smiling at the kid.

Gary Reynolds, Your photo of the Goodyear production sign (post #97864) brought back memories. The building in the background is still standing, but barely. The photo is looking northward toward the northwest corner of I94 and I75. A photo taken today of the area would shock you.
