Stopped by my buddy's tow lot yesterday and saw this cowl in the back of a truck going to scrap! Couldn't let it go. Now that I have it home...what is it?! I'm guessing late 20's ford maybe? That's awesome news! Well for now she'll make some wall art in the garage, and in the meantime I'm gonna start looking here and there for the rest of it and do some research on what direction to go, probably original frame, speedway the frond end with drop axel, another 57 olds rear, flat head for sure...oh I've been dreaming for sure! I thought that looked familiar It looks like you have some wall art that could be the beginning of a project there. I've got a similar piece for a 29 that may be a project some day.

All you need to build a Woody! Easiest is to buy a complete running Model-A chassis. They're often available as many people only use the bodies.
Let's bump up an old thread. Can anybody tell me about the bracket at the top of the A pillar in the OPs second picture. It has 3 screws the secure it the the pillar. Did this change between 30 an 31? The cowl I have has 3 holes like his. But mine has no small body line that would follow the cowl band around the front And the A pullar on mine is a half an inch taller than the other A coupe I have in the shop.
The cowl above is a 30/31 coupe cowl. They are shorter than a 30/31 sedan cowl. If you have a cowl missing the small second body line I would wonder if it could be a 29 four door cowl. They looked similar.

Mo rust. The horizontal body line is there. The one it doesn't have is the vertical that runs on the front edge on the cowl. The back edge of the hood would meet up to it.
Ah. I think your talking about the area where the stainless cowl band bolts down. I've seen some bodies have a raised line, some have just some raised bumps an inch or two long and some without anything. It might just be a difference of which factory the cowl was stamped at but that's just a guess. I've seen this in both open and closed bodies.
