WOW!!! What an outstanding chain of events! Glad Gene has his Corvette back in his possession but the curators that have had the chance to possess the cherished Corvette have carried the legacy of this particular car to an almost movie inspiring story! SWEET!
It is great to hear Gene get his car back. It is where it should be. There are a couple of mine I wish I had back. I hope Gene posts on here and hopefully does something with the current name; it deserves better. Cool survivor for sure. Much more interesting than most of the so called original survivors in my opinion.-Jim
Congrats Gene, I very happy the Corvette found it's way home. I found the Corvette on Sioux Falls Craigslist in a "Hog Shed" in Memmo SD then brought it home to Springfield ILLINOIS. Took it to the Cavelcade of Customs in Cinncinatt OH "AS FOUND" Jan 2014 Delivered it to Solo Speed Shop Chadsworth CA to Bill Jan 2014 What is the odd's Gene got to buy his Corvette back after 40 yrs!!!! Merry Christmas Gene

Hey Guys! I'm back! Look at the Christmas Present I bought me yesterday! 760 miles round trip on a bad leg! This Vette is CQQL & fits right in at Solo Speed Shop Since Gene took one of the Solo Cars! Will post a new post later! Tks to all responders On new title! GENE'S CORVETTE! Bill Fowler!
Gonna get it off trailer & ck it out! Will stay like it is as far as Patina will post another thread soon! Tks Bill
That wouldn't have a BBC and remnants of root beer brown on the hood would it ? Another score regardless. Nice.
This is so cool and the story has special meaning to me, as my great grandfather homesteaded near Springfield and I attended Southern State College in Springfield in the mid 60's and have even done business with Richie of Mr Golf Car, small world.
Another NICE find! So what? You have a fiberglass magnet in your pocket? I know one is lucky finding two is skill! Can't wait to see the plans.
Now that's the perfect ending to a great story! Congrats to all concerned, and mega kudos to Bill! Looking forward to updates from Gene. Looks like someone will have a very Merry Christmas! KK
Gene & his beautiful bride Barb of 30-40 Yrs picked up their vette this last weekend & it is now in Colorado! They built this car & dated in it! It doesn't get any better than that! Tks Gene & Barb & everyone that made this story possible! Bill @ Solo Speed Shop
I love stories like this. Very good to know or read about kind people. It seems there are some of the best here on the HAMB. Ryan.
