Just fired her up. Kicked over on the first try. no smoke, sounds great. Now to get the speed parts slapped on.

Did you ever locate the cylinder head you were looking for?

 

Been a while and been very busy buying/selling and wrestling this addition of rust and speed. Recently picked up the fiberglass body for our first Bonneville V4F banger belly tank build and a 1928 Model A Truck (hand made wood cab not a Huckster) that will be our shop truck. You can see it's a bit full at the moment.



But, we've made good progress on the coupster by adding a 6:1 head with a little extra shaved off (6.5:1), mech advance dizzy, burns intake and 97. Finished up the floor, fabricated the throttle linkage, and made a few passes to tune her in. Just have to finish up some items for track safety, tie up loose ends and we are ready!. Here are few pics, I'll post some more then.

 

Looking forward to a little more test and tune as it warms up on the East Coast this weekend!

 

Finished up a bunch of loose ends this weekend. Louvered deck lid and tonneau cover left to do.

Did you find the 97 worked well? going back and fourth with the 97 or an 81.
