I have a friend heading to Padre Island, what shops should he visit or junkyards?

    Thanks for your help, Bob

The wife and I go to south padre island most every year in October and I have not seen much of anything in that area, if you mean up by corpus, most of that area is a national park.
    probably not much help.

Hot, wet and salty. No good for iron. Years ago I saw a 59 Chevy as I was driving the beach road east of Galveston. You could see straight thru the body as the bottom foot was gone.

Texas has a pretty good supply of vintage iron but it is mostly farther north. Closest spot I can think of to go is John's in Seguin.

Padre is vacation territory, doubt there's much around. I can tell ya a couple places not to go from the time I spent there.

I know some good bars to watch the sun go down into the Laguna Madre from there, but I've never seen any old cars worth looking at.

went down there with my wife way back in the '90s and a couple things really stuck in my memory--the confederate air force collection of ww2 air planes and a cherry postwar chrysler 3-passenger business coupe sitting in a front yard.
