hello everyone! as some of you may already know... after already defeating pinkynoegg in a bike buildoff, he has now challenged me in a roadster build-off. And, I am definatly not one to turn down good clean competition, and especially not beer!!!

The plan is to build two "roadsters" they must be drivable, traditionally styled, and built by the owner. the winner will be chosen by a vote of the masses. That means you! the cars must also be driven from North East Texas to the lone star roundup on April, 17th and 18th 2015

THIS WILL NOT BE YOUR DRAMA FILLED DISCOVERY CHANNEL STYLED BUILDOFF!! pinkynoegg happens to be my cousin, and we help each other out as much as possible on each others cars as we can being a state apart. however,! we do like to do a fair share of nagging on each other! so be prepared to be entertained!

P.S. neither me nor my cousin are, or claim to be, proffesional car builders. (yet) we are just a couple of youngsters having a good ol' time doing what we love! so constructive criticism is very welcome!!!!

also! here is the link to pinkynoegg's build thread!

much of my progress can be found on my instagram page @kkramer93. as well as pinkynoegg's progress can be found on his @pinkynoegg

I started collecting parts to build a model A styled frame and i constructed this, thanks to a lot of members on here as a matter of fact for selling me some of this stuff and/or pointing me in the right direction to find many of the parts!

the motor i currently dont have a picture of due to the fact that im dead in the middle of tearing it down and going through the internals! however. here's a picture of one of the valve covers when i first picked it up to get your caddi senses tingling!

I love a competition and I also have a '28 sport coupe that's probably a little more beat up than that one so I'm really looking forward to seeing what you can do with this one. The build-off is a cool idea, I tried to get one going with some friends of mine but couldn't get any takers, I think they all took my trash talking a bit too seriously!

Here's an updated pic of one of the quarter panels. I moved the passenger cabin corner forward 4 inches. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1420509884.794864.jpg

This was to give it more of a "roadster" look and get rid of that long cabin look you see on most coupsters.
I also got roadster patch panels for the fronts of the quarters to give it that bottom body line like a roadster ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1420510005.266975.jpg

Simple things will hold you up like drag links, steering box mounts, brakes and lots little gremlin's. At some point get a legal pad a crayon and a cold beer sit down survey your car and parts make list line by line. Then draw through the ones you get done. You will be surprised how many items that will be on the list. Be flexible there's jobs that require lots of money break them down and stay after it ! Also call in those friends that you have helped they will probably enjoy it as much as you do ! If all else fails go get a crawfish po boy and a cup of gumbo !

Cool, I like the relocated rear opening, was planning that for mine as well, that's part of what throws off the look. I also want to do thinned and shortened doors, and reworked cowl posts as those seem like the other areas that make coupesters look odd. Can't wait to see what you have planned for yours.

My doors will also be shortened and thinned. I have some 32 roadster skins i will be using on them. Turns out the body lines match up almost exactly. Who woulda thought ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1420548224.436102.jpg

Like your ideas so far and your engine choice
this body looks to be in better condition than your cousins
Will just need to get one of the officials to check the rule book to make sure you dont get disqualified for building a coupster in the roadster build off

  22. I'll be watching both the builds in this buildoff. I love buildoffs since particpating in one on the ratrodbikes.com forum. A lot of fun.

Good luck to both of you.

    Glen.

Well I started chopping up the second quarter panel after work today. Of anyone building a coupester out there was wondering how to do this.... Here is how I did it. Not sure if this is right or not but this worked for me and took minimal metal shaping skills to get it done ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1420605001.012033.jpg

And here's a good shot from the side so you can kinda of get the profile of what it's going to look like finished up

Tommorow after work I'll finish up this quarter and get started on stretching out that panel above the decklid!

Came here to burn rubber and drink beer!

  28. With that type of bet the build off should end at "Ginny's" so you can bet on the Chicken shit bingo!
