My impala was finished 20 years ago in 1995. I had bought a nos set of lee plastics tail light lenses at a swap meet in the eighties for 10 bucks. I loved the fact that no one else had em but have been told countless times that my brake lights could not be seen if the sun was out. This did not keep me from driving the car for the most part, but I have been using it less and less lately. I didn't want to just put stock lenses on it and had tried led bulbs with the lees and it was no better . I ended up buying a set of 61 Pontiac lenses and after a little lathe time taking the flange diameter down and drilling new mounting holes they are on and boy are they bright ! What do you guys think?? ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1420157160.730607.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1420157321.664669.jpg
Above are the pics with the lee lenses

Kind of a wash for me. I liked the others, as they were different, but 61-ish. The new ones remind me of a 63 or 64 and kind of stick out. But if they are brighter, more power to you, because it would be a crime for that car to get hit. My first car was a 61 2 dht, and I really like how clean and simple yours is.

Looks good, and being seen is important. That change should have been made the day after you noted that your lights could hardly be seen.

  10. I think the new lens give the rear view of the car a refreshing new custom look. HRP

No offence but the Lee lenses look like little Frisbees. Much better with the Pontiacs. So subtle that most people won't even notice that they're not original.

I too like the new ones better, the Lees looked a little flat to me. Really sharp car BTW.
