I noticed two cracks in my 1950 331 cadillac intake manifold where the nut goes over the studs.

Will a crack in this location mess up performance? This was noticed after a high rpm highway trip (which I was imobilized due to a broken U joint). Car doesnt want to hold idle and runs rough. Pulled plugs and they check out ok. I did burn like a half a quart of oil and the engine has sludge.

I notice a 49 intake manifold on ebay... Will that fit my 50?

The one on ebay is actually cracked in the same location....

You see its on one of the open notches.

Can i just have mine welded up?

With those big washers you got there, I wouldn't worry too much about it other than making sure you got a good seal all the way around. Don't overtorque.

With proper heavy washer like in OP second pic it is not an issue..The link is only there probably for core/casting/maching support...

I cant see how the crack location would allow a vacuum leak so performance should be of no concern. It could be welded if you want.
