Hey guys just wanted to post my find. 20 years ago I had to sale my 56 Chevy big window when my son was born. Now I got another one that's awesome. 265 v8 with hydromatic trans. Not cut up or anything. Lovin it.ya and one other thing, was parked in barn in 1974. Found receipt in glove box that trans was rebuilt right before it was parked. Had fun putting it back together with all its original bolts and parts.

Great find. You should have grabbed that Honda that was parked next to it also.

Very cool truck, congrats. Roll her outside for some pics when you get a chance. The 265/auto, BBW, chrome bumper, etc, makes it even cooler! Any other option?

(btw, that Honda appears to be a 250/305/450 scrambler, also desirable if you get my drift:D)

Nice find. I can't completely tell from the photo, but it looks to be a model 3100 short-bed. That was not a common combination with the big back window, but extra-desirable.

I had a 56 model 3200 with big window that I foolishly sold some years ago. But I know where it is and I am confident that I eventually will be able to get it back.

Back in the fall of 79 I tried to buy one that was the same color from a farmer but would not sell,he also had a 55 2 door post that had been sitting since 73 that was also not for sale. Came back by the following spring and no trace of anything including the buildings, his comment on the truck was it has a automatic and not many were made and I hope someone got the truck and car but have not seen them. Get it running and enjoy it.

K5hart, no sure on the fender being off.. It does look like he was doing body work to the front of the fender and other areas of the truck that were never sanded down.. I am going to go back after the holidays and get the honda bike.. Thanks for the feedback..

Why can't I find something like that? A Chevrolet setup Hydro. Takes a special starter motor, that you'll never find, but takes the same rebuild parts that passenger cars used. The Honda, is it s 160 or 305 Scrambler; had a friend that had a 305. Straight exhaust with baffles on the ends of the pipes. I was never into motorcycles, but he was hard core. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

Does anyone have a lead on a radio? Does anyone know how much it lowers the rear of these trucks putting the rearend over the leafs in the rear?.One other thing about these hydromatics, put in drive 1 and drive and shift to second ect or does it do it on its own..First time having one of these trans.. Any info would be great, thanks

Does it on it's own. They are fine trans as long as you don't have to move one by yourself.

When it comes time to service the hydro use type F fluid. My guess is the Honda is a 250 scrambler. In the early 60s I used to clean there clocks with my home made 175 used to be 125 Honda.
