Yes, Photoshopped. I did this to promote the two door version I designed for Street Rodder Mag. It's based off of the Tucker that raced in NASCAR. I could have blurred the sponsors and the numbers and added more grain to make it blend in and look real, but my goal wasn't to fool people. It was to make them take a second look.

Back... This is the part of the camp that we are tenting. I will show you when I come home. I am enjoying this very much and I think you would. There is a yacht just coming in and its horn is fierce sounding. We will watch the boat racing this afternoon. Had a long beautiful ride yesterday. Chas. is down on the shore hunting Petosky stones. There were 50 tents pitched here Thursday night. postmarked Aug 10, 1914

I'm not 100% certain but that looks a lot like Connie Hines in the cockpit. Hines played the wife on the old "Mr. Ed" television show and visited the Speedway in 1962 as part of the Studebaker pace car promotion. Studebaker sponsored her television show at the time.

The car is the #92 Concannon Car Co. Spl. a DNQ in 1961 with Norm Hall up. I've never heard of it before but if they were a Studebaker dealer it would make sense.

It's still there. Been updated and it's a tad more surrounded by other businesses.

I really don't know. It's the car that Johnny McDowell drove in 51 but that isn't him.

Rootie, I believe that's the 8CL Maserati (S/N 3035) that Henry Banks drove in the 1950 500. That car was yellow but that's not Banks in the cockpit. McDowell drove the ex-Shaw (S/N 3032) 8CTF Maserati in 1951 and that car was black with orange trim. Both cars were number 12 and had been converted to supercharged Offies when Banks and McDowell drove them. I can't find any records of anyone in the 3035 car except Banks himself in 1950 so it would be interesting to know just who the driver in the photo really is.

You're right about the 2 different #12 Mazzies. I got to thinking that it might be one of the crew doing a little "posing," so I did a little more research, but that doesn't seem to be the case either. 12-29-i.JPG
