The use of Sedanet seems to be used only by Buick, at least in '49 GM cars. Cadillacs were Club Coupes, Pontiacs are Streamliners and Chevrolet were Fleetlines.

I realized I left out Oldsmobile for '49, which was called a Club Sedan.

The paint is peeling off in sheets and it was in a barn for s long time. I will never get the rat poo smell out of it until I restore it. Got a nice rat hole in the headliner, too. It's a cool old driver with a 455 LeSabre drive train in it.

  16. My two favorites, 1950 Buick super (or roadmaster IF you can find one) and a 1950 Oldsmobile 98. I miss my '50 super I sold in 1997.

IMG.jpg '47 Olds in Irving (Dallas) TX in the 80s. I found it in Plano, drove it to Waco for a rod run at the park by the river (NSRA state run?) after a duct tape repair to the timing cover, sold it to someone in North Dallas, and always wondered what happened to it.
I do think we are seeing two body styles in this thread: 2 door sedans and the longer, and much lower "Sedanettes".

I saw the upper tan '47 at Goodguys DelMar 5 years ago, and unless it has a double, the first time in OKC during Nats in '91.

  30. Stone guards or gravel guards, Paul. Don't forget that when most of these cars were new, many of the roads were still gravel or worse.:)
