I just bought a 1961 f100 a few weeks ago and have started a restoration/ rebuild. I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet exactly, but it's a short bed unibody that is fairly rust free. When I bought it After a little sanding and primer Grinding on the bed to make it rust free again Mike T
These old trucks are cool,my father in law had one and always intended to hot rod it but he just drove it daily until it was totaled on his way to work. HRP
It's a 223 straight 6 with a 4 speed and a 6 cyl rear end. I changed the plugs, cap, rotor, oil and filter. I was going to change the points but when i popped off the cap I found it had a mechanical advance pertronix... Score for me. I also cleaned out the crank case EVAC lines and pcv valve, adjusted the carb and wiped everything down. It runs great and shifts good, just gotta find a shifter ball As you can see by one of the pics. I got a stock 9" that came outta a 1962 short bed unibody, with the correct shock mounts and all. I plan to clean it up and get installed soon Mike T
