A little update on my car is coming soon again. Progress is slow but steady. I can't and won't complain! Happy holidays to you and your family as well!

Good to hear from you for sure. My build is coming along, I got the new torque converter ($1200.00) over to the tranny builder two weeks ago. The chassis is almost complete, fuel tank, electric pump, Griffin Rad., Blown 392 etc. Still a slow build. Custom work takes time. Stay in touch!

 

The guys at the body shop have been busy. The rear deck lid is done now and the door jams are being taken care of as we we speak. In the new year, the front fenders and hood will be done and then it's time for the first coat of paint. 2015 is going to be great!

Last update for the year......The rear deck lid is now finished and sanded on the inside, ready for the first layer of paint. 2015 is going to be soooo good!!!

Thanks for the comments Scott and David! Another small update once again, the work on the doors has started. Don't expect too much time on these, so they'll be completely done in the first week of januari.

Hi Farmer12, Great build. In fact I'm encouraged to get back to work on my coupe after finding this blog. The blog format is a great way to keep the focus and on track with any major project. This spring I think I'll follow your lead and start my own thread to get back in the driver seat. The following is a brief account I want to share of my first car. It originally had a LT 1 Chevy 350 and was one of the quickest cars on the local circuit. I bought it when I was 17. That was the year 1980. I started to rebuild it in 1982 and Posies helped make a few mods. Here's a quick list. A 548hp 440 build backed by a a833 e body 4 speed was stuffed under the hood. Direct connection drive shaft and a 1956 ford 9 inch rear with 4:56 gears hung with coil overs and a four link that centered the tires in the wheel wells. Posies graphed a 1985 corvette front clip. That included a fiber glass mono leaf spring, corvette rack and pinion, aluminum control arms and vette power steering pump. They punched the hood, doors are shaved, power windows with a copper tint, rear deck has a recessed license plate and the rear fender where wedged to the rear to square the taper to accommodate large tires. It has sat for the past twenty years as I have raised my family. I stared to do work last year and soon learned my wife has a brain tumor. She is healing from surgery and chemo as I write this post and I hope to resume this spring. Here are a few pics. I'm going to forge skeleton hands that will hold the front nerfs made from old wrenches and the fingers will move actuated by cables. I'm currently contemplating a 2 inch chop. Although I'm unsure, It's time to get it finished. 30 years flew past and it's time to focus on finishing it not rethinking it. I can say that I have held on to it when most of my friends sold their rides and have regretted the decision to do so. Thanks for posting your work It has brought many good ideas to me plus I'm glad to see the 1941 Plymouth has so many admirers.

Got the front panels mounted and turned the car around. Still need to mount the hood and ensure the gaps are perfect.(which will take some time knowing me!)
