Hijack question: Have you guys running 7.50's ever used tubes for 5.50-6.40 tires? I've got some good USA-made tubes gathering dust, and would prefer to run them instead of buying new ones.

I am running 750x16 Firestone tires on mine,Rally America Wheels recommended a 5 1/2" wheel and 4" for the 550x16 I'm running on the front.I highly recommend Rally America for any of your wheel needs.

Well, to bring up a dead thread... How about 7.00x16's on a 4" wide '40 wheel installed on an f-1 panel truck? Is that ok as well? Assume the panel truck will he used as a swap meet rig and may have 700 lbs in the back at times.

As far as Coker brand diameter/tread width chart I saw 4 years ago, the 700 is a wider tread, compared to the 750, both were Firestone repros. Strange but true.

I would not do that on a heavy F1 panel and also hauling weight. You'd need decent tire pressure for the combined weight, and I am positive he will wear the center out in a scary short time. Too much $ for that situation, IMO.

That raised crown at the center of tread may be a handful on that truck on slick roads, too.

EDIT: just wondering if someone will tell you about the Lincoln Zephyr or Continental 40s wheel widths, and if the Ford caps would fit. Those cars did have big tires
