    Before you cut it.
Lower the car, try the darker belt line with matching wheels, may even switch to steelies and black walls. Try a louvered hood top with no sides, add some speed parts to the banger, it's really a good looking car, try some subtle changes.
We have winter every year, it can get chopped next year if you're set on it.

28-29's are 1" taller than 30-31 so you must chop 5" unless you wear a 8" top hat

  7. If you do chop it, save all the pieces. I did this to a '34 sedan I had years ago and a friend used the pieces to raise the roof on a heavily chopped 5 widnow

I agree if your going full fendered then no chop, fenderless can work either way but I don't groove out on chopped full fendered cars.

The best thing you could do is find someone with a chopped sedan like yours and sit in it. Then you'll know if you'll fit in it or not.

Orange Tudor could be as much as a 6" chop seeing as how it's a 28-29.

  17. In response to the original question, 3", 4" or 5" ? I would go 4" if it were mine, considering the higher starting point compared to the later A's. I can appreciate where the no chop crowd is coming from, but let's stay on track here. Oh, and if you chop it, Edna ain't gonna cut it any more

I agree "Edna" ain't gonna cut it, you need something that is a little more sinister (if you are going to name).

I agree. I like it just how it is. This has probably been mentioned but just in case: If money is no object that's one thing, but aren't you going to take a car that's worth a substantial amount, put a bunch of labor and money into it and have a car worth about the same amount? Why not start with a cheap project car and end up with two valuable cars, a nice stocker and a hot rod?

  21. I am 6'2" and my A coupe has been chopped 3". Sitting in a Bengal's seat made for a chopped coupe I barely have head clearance. With a stock seat you are going to need to keep the top stock as well.

If you have to do it 4", another friend has similar car and a few of us have collectively told him not to chop it, leave it stock height as another friend just got his tudor going the other day and left it stock height as well.

  25. I LOVE IT......ALL the metal shaping equipment in the world is this guy's company. An exercise in Chop-suey being imminent....3,4, or 5 " being the question...and it takes 4 pages answer his own question. Like talking the heart surgeon to take a vitamin......FUCK THAT.....WE'RE GOING IN !!

"We can rebuild him....we have the technology...."

What is with all the rest dorks? Thought this was a rod and custom site?

3" with the dark root beer color, either belt line or the whole thing.then add some cool banger speed equipment!

I am a lover of chopped top cars period, I recently sold my 28 Tudor that had a 5” chop. But being that yours has a banger in it I would leave it alone and maybe find an overhead conversion for it to make it even better looking.[IMG][/URL]

That is a 5" chop? I think it looks great. How tall are you?

  30. Ye har, after a few days of watching some answer your question, and most trying to tell you to do something you didn't ask, were getting down to the bone.
Looking forward to watching you shave this heap :D:cool:
