Of course there is the 1956 Chevrolet Impala concept car. I know technically this doesn't belong here, but the Impala wasn't released until 58, so maybe it is OK to have it here?

Looks like the only thing that made it was the rear window lines...

Not a white kinda guy, normally red or black. This car is beautiful

  10. This one is local here in Missouri. I saw it at a cruise night in Independence. It's starting to get some cracks in the paint, and the owner put fake bullet hole stickers over the cracks, you can see them on the roof. I'd rather have the cracks. It's a pretty nice looking car. 58 Chevy Kustom Scallop Job copy.jpg

I built this one a few years back and sold it to a collector in Texas. Sort of wish I never sold it.
Can't replace it for what it sold for.

Yes, those fake bullet holes should be limited to those rat rod POS.

It happens every time we do it, wouldn't you think we would get smart and quit selling those cars?

iamq, she sure dresses up that Impala, doesn't she?;)

Borrowed this picture from the Vintage Shots thread, I noticed the poor guy forgot to roll up the driver's side window before washing his 58 Impala, bet he wasn't a happy camper when he noticed his mistake. :(

I've been saving them for years, cant remember where they came from. I'm really looking for ideas for when I start to work on mine... And no it wont look like that show car... just a mild custom or maybe an American Graffiti clone...or another Serra Gold one like my first one.. who knows...

The chopped purple one above was built by a guy here in Wisconsin, he lived a block from my shop a few years ago, in a little ranch house where the garage was too small to fit the '58, so it was parked outside. I had talked to him and he said he built it in 1982 and had put 200K miles on it since then! I used to see it driving around all the time when I was a kid. He moved abrubtly one day and the car disappeared for a few years. It turned up again last year at a storage building sale and sold for pennies, I'm not sure if the guy even knows it's gone, apparently he was laying low and didn't pay the storage bill. At least, that's the story I got.

Those kinds of things happening always make me wonder what they are thinking? How do you let it go for unpaid rent? Must have thought he was going to be able to get the rent caught up someway, I guess.

in my book, one of the nicest looking chevies ever. back when three bills would get you a really clean one, you'd paint it a light metallic blue and run chrome reverse wheels.

Full price as far as I'm concerned. Total waste of a '58. Can't see any improvement in the customizing of that car. Perfect example of customizing for the sake of customizing.

I know you guys are mainly focused on the Impala's but here's a picture of my Belair 4dr. I sold it at the Nationals in Louisville last year. It was a 327, 350 turbo, dual exhaust and glasspacks. It was a solid car with a nice original interior. It was fun to drive. I set it up with the black rims and narrow whitewalls as was the style around here in the 60's.

We aren't focusing on any one model intentionally, just that there seem to be more of the Impalas that have been fixed up. I would love to see more of the Belairs, Biscaynes and Delrays posted here for all of us to enjoy, whether they are daily drivers, customs or gassers. My personal 58 is a 2 door Biscayne that I am building as a restorod driver with a few possible mild custom features.

I meant that the Impala's are more prevalent, poor choice of words on my part. I'd like to find a Delray 2dr. sedan. Really like post #76 by RGRABOSKE.

I borrowed this pic off of Just Steves 32 Ford 3 window build thread, it was in 1960 GSTA show in Minneapolis, looked pretty nice.
