  1. Bogan Renfroe used to get his 427 SOHC engines and parts from Phil Bonner. They are still friends and as Quain said about Gene and Bogan tell some good stories when they get together!!!

I am looking forward, with some hesitation, to making a pass in my newest addition.

Has run as fast a 8.95 in the quarter.

time for a block beneath the pedal!

Hi Gents, yes I crashed my Willys rolling at 110 mph. Held on tight to the steering column when I knew I couldnt save her. It happened all to fast....... Sad day.....But its getting redone. Work is in progress. When u build your car, don't sacrifice on safety, It will save your life...
I must say a huge thanks to all the people who were there to clean up the mess from Empire, paramedics, the flat bed truck driver, Nelson Bilyks /Larry Mortons AA gas crews that packed all my stuff and put the car in the box. David Bilyk for driving me back home. Many came to see me after the crash with kind words, They are not forgotten. All of you.....Thankyou so much.....
    Thank you so much.. Danny

Firewall difference found; difference between 37/38 and 39 firewall is the 37/38 indentation is shorter in height than the 39 so it can accommodate the depth of the two glove boxes. I need a 38.Hope someone out there has one. Thanks for everyone's input into the original question.

Does anyone know what ever happened to this coupe run by Wayne Hedges. He was from Las Vegas. The only other picture I've ever seen of the car is from an old issue of Street Rodder from 1990, where he was making a licensing pass at an NDRA even (maybe Fremont). By 1990, the car still had Halibrands, but the rear tires had been tucked inside the fenders, and it looked like it had spindle mount Halibrands on the front. Was it sold, wrecked, stored??? It was a badass looking car. I'd love to find more info on it. The pic below is from an old West Coast Willys Club issue from 1987.

That car is looking great, you have come a long way on the build. I really like the silver paint and the fabrication looks top notch. Post more pictures as the build progresses.

Look at the back bumper, they were trying to get the weight way back for traction. SpeedwayWillys_zpse758dd8d.jpg SpeedwayWillys.jpg

  26. I just got done scanning in some pictures from my dad. Here are some more pictures of his car. If anyone knows where this car is now, we'd like to know.

  27. Here are some of my uncle's car. The first 2 are from 1987 when he was building it, the third is from 1994 when he actually got to drive it. It's still not done.

  28. Here are the 2 latest pictures I have from when my uncle painted the body and nose last year. Just as a quick side note, the doors on the car are originally off of the gold Eastern Automotive Willys out of New York.

  29. 1 more picture from the 60's or early 70's at a Long Island drag strip. I'm not sure what car it is, but I think this is Islip Speedway. img0027.jpg

Did that car run out of S & K Speed Shop in Farmingdale LI? Or did your father work there?
I seem to remember something to that effect about a "Haase"
