Here's one I got from the 50's. Using it for a battery box. Got another I use just like it. Keeps stuff cold all day.

I've got an old Coke cooler my mom gave to me several years ago. I can remember using it on picnics and family reunions many many years ago. Its probably a early 50's vintage. It needs a new seal around the lid so for now I just stick a small plastic cooler inside it and use it that way. Works for me.

i'm a huge nerd for old coolers. i go to estate sales every week and usually pick one up every other week. i have two 60's colemans, one never used, with original box and fliers in red, the other one in real nice shape in the two tone brown. i think they're super cool. i paid $5 for the nice one and $10 for the mint never used in the original box one. they go for a bit on ebay sometimes.

  5. I've got 2 old Coke coolers large size and a junior, they don't keep ice as long as a modern well insulated cooler but who cares buy more ice, they look way cool.
The junior will hold 12 bottles of beer I strap it to the rear window garnish of my coupe on long road trips.

found this at a swap meet a few years back -- needed paint -- so I did -- [the yellow splotches are sunlight ] use it primarailly for our Forth of July parties -- sits up in the barn attic rest o the year -- keeps the drinks cold fer a coupla days long as the lids are closed :)

don't know how old it is but it *has* a bottle opener ;) cap catcher was missin when I got it :( the legs are easily detachable fer stowage or use as a "regular" cooler, there's handles on both ends and it has an external drain w a screw on cap :)

Sweet...... I never seen one. Nice restore!

  12. I have a couple of old Pepsi coolers, one painted blue and the other one is aluminum.

The only problem I have with the old coolers is they sweat and will soak the carpet when they are in the back of the wagon. HRP

I have a Pepsi cooler in the back of my 63 Ranchero,a Coke, and a Pleasure Chest!

(Tip) I bought a soft sided cooler that fits perfectly in the Pepsi Cooler! The Pepsi was my parents, it don't leak, but at the end of the day it's easier to pull the soft side out to dump out the water!

The best part of my Coke, and Pleasure Chest is they were found at the curb! Just because they needed a cap to seal the drain plugs! ( love dumb folks!)

  16. My Pepsi cooler is identical to the one in the back of your truck.

I never even considered using a soft sided cooler as a inside liner but it makes perfectly good sense!

    Style & function...great idea,thanks. HRP

I found this sitting on the ground behind a hoarders home. The bottom rusted off but the rest of it is decent.

I never realized how many people are into collecting old vintage coolers from the past.

I guess many are very valuable to collectors.

    Anyone remember Cool-O-Matic coolers?

I was asked to recreate a label. It's half way down the page.

I just picked up this Pleasure Chest cooler. It is in amazing shape and even has the tray. The gasket around the lid is getting brittle though. Any suggestions for a replacement?
