Great results, generally it's the original bodies that need saving not the new ones. Looks like someone got in over their head and gave up. Very nice work Flop, looking forward to the chop!!!! BTW my 3W is chopped 2 -1/8" and was done by an old friend who was still chopping into his 80's.
Flop, just thought I'd let you know that there aren't many if any metal finishing classes or workshops in the area. You should start one. I noticed in the pics, after you've done your magic, that the panels have a different tint- is there something you are putting on the Steel ?

Original Ford body is not that perfect. Look at some of the door gaps on original cars. These cars were basic transportation, not show cars.

Geez.....your attention to details are mythic. Everyone wants a guy like you for their stuff. Always at the end of the rainbow unfortunately........so many sightings......but never to be seen. Your customers are very lucky individuals, sir. Awesome stuff you do.
Do you use a Bullseye pick? If not, you might think it's a godsend. Your kind of work would love a Bullseye.

There is a large range of cars on this forum. Some need layers of bondo, some layers of primer and heavy blocking and such. Only a few like yours, if that many, that should be clear coated to showcase all the craftsmanship that went into avoiding the usual bodywork 99.9% of cars receive. Impressive skill and patience! I think all of the superlatives have been used up in the past three pages but I do have to agree with them. That is impressive work you have done.
Fantastic work ! I cannot believe the issues with a new body with all the time in development and production that the body has so many small problems with gaps and body lines . Keep up the good work !
Check previous posts, Flop said the body wasn't assembled by Brookville or a qualified body assembler, like Bobby Walden. Brookville has too high of standards to allow something like this to leave their facility.
thanks everyone ! well a not so good update as we have hit a serious roadblock with imporper fit of the body when it was welded by the other shop . I had a bad feeling about this from the get go but though i could get away with just fixing the door ... Not so much the case after serious looking and measuring . The A pillar is tweaked in about 5/16ths of an inch ....which directly relates to the 5/16ths of over hang i am missing over the door The roof over the windshield will need split, spot welds removed and a pretty good pull . A pillars passenger left driver right . drivers side is correct passenger driver passenger driver

What does it look like at the rear of the doors / quarter panels? This seems like a great deal of difference with that many panels around the door frame. Are you sure this is not a factory defect with the door frames? Dave.
